MI Adjusting open-minded on acquisition

MI Adjusting is focusing on organic growth but remains open to the possibility of acquisition. The North Yorkshire Based Company, which recently re-branded from Mathieson-Ingham to MI Adjusting, is also looking to move to new, larger head offices.

Tina Whelan has been appointed as head of business services and will cover the liability and casualty claims divisions.

Speaking about the possibility of future acquisitions, Martin Mathieson, MI Adjustings director of claims, said the company is focusing its attentions on specialist niche players.

We have been fortunate enough to benefit from steady organic growth, however, we remain open to acquisition, Mr Mathieson added. We did approach a medium sized adjuster with a view to taking over their liability work. They were beginning to focus more on property and taking their liability book of work initially looked a good fit but we were unable to reach agreement.
